Inter Miami led the way for MLS in their clean sweep of Liga MX teams at the quarter finals of Leagues Cup.
Luis Suarez scored a late penalty for Inter Miami as they narrowly defeated Tigres 2-1.
Suarez put the Heron’s ahead in the 23rd minute after he converted a penalty kick, Angel Correa gave Tigres a lifeline in 67th minute but Suarez 89th minute penalty won it for Inter Miami as they move closer in defending their title.
For LA Galaxy, despite their struggle in the MLS regular season, the MLS Cup defending champions defeated Pachuca 2-1 to deny the Liga MX team a spot in the last 4. Marco Reus scored the Galaxy 2nd goal after Pachuca gave LA Galaxy the lead via an own goal.
Seattle Sounders defeated Puebla 4-3 on penalties after they ended the regulation time goalless while Orlando City also defeated Toluca 6-5 on penalties to complete MLS clean sweep of Liga MX in the Leagues Cup.
