Houston Dynamo manager, Ben Olsen has joined the global soccer community in expressing his sadness at the tragic death ex Liverpool and Portuguese player, Diogo Jota who tragically lost his life in an auto crash at the wee hours of Thursday morning in Spain.
“Horrific, the soccer community even though it is a huge community, it is bigger and more global than any other sport and i think in some way that's what makes it small. We all connect with this run around kicking this ball in the net we all grow up all over the world loving this sport and when we see someone that plays with such joy and happiness, so talented i think it breaks everybody's heart in the industry so my thoughts are with his teammates and the family” he said.
Diogo Jota alongside his brother, Andre Felipe Teixeira da Silva were killed in a tragic accident when their Lamborghini burst into flames after a suspected tire blowout which cause the car to veer off the road. They were on their way to catch a ferry at the northern Spanish city of Santander to the UK to resume pre-season with Liverpool which commence on Monday, July 7th.
