As the 2024/2025 MLS regular season gets into the home stretch with less than 5 matches to the end of the regular season and as the post season looms ahead in the league, playoffs spot consolidation seems to be the priority of several teams who are at the top half of the table. Several players of African descent are integral parts of their various teams' quest for glory this season.
For Nashville soccer club, they occupy the 4th spot in the eastern conference and are sure to reach the post season once again after they failed to make it last season. This feat won't be possible without the resurgence of their German Sudanese attacking midfielder, Hany Mukhtar, whose goals and assists has been instrumental in Nashville surge to the 4th spot in the eastern conference this season.

Hanny Mukhtar seems to have rediscovered his 2022 MVP run, his 14 goals and 11 assists this season alongside the league leading scorer, Sam Surridge 20 goals is what is keeping Nashville 4th in the league as the hunt for a better playoff spot resumes after the international break.
Born in Berlin to a German mother and a Sudanese father, Hanny has been phenomenal since he joined Nashville from Brondby in the Danish league in 2020.
This season, Hanny Mukhtar made his 4th MLS ALL Star team appearance. Since 2022, when he was first selected, he has been selected continuously.
As the battle for the post season rages on, will Hanny Mukhtar lead Nashville Football club to glory?
