San Diego picked playoff ticket
MLS newcomers, San Diego FC became the first team to pick a playoff ticket after MLS match day 30.
San Diego who are making their debut in the Major League Soccer this season lead the western conference on 53 points from 28 games, 16 wins and 7 losses.
On match day 30, San Diego Fc played a goalless draw with Portland Timbers, a point that guaranteed the southern Californian team a spot in the 2025 MLS Cup playoffs.
Another home defeat for Houston Dynamo
Houston Dynamo struggles go on as they lost 2-1 to San Jose Earthquakes. As the season enters the home stretch, Ben Olsen found themselves 12th in the western conference, 6 points off the playoffs but the 2-1 home defeat to San Jose did not help in their Puah for a playoff spot in the western conference.
Hanny Mukthar and Sam Surridge both scored twice each as Nashville thrashed Orlando City FC 5-1 to consolidate their 3rd spot on the eastern conference playoff spots.
LA Galaxy, Down but not out, Philly Union on rampage
In Carson California, MLS Cup defending champions LA Galaxy showed that they might be down but not as they thrashed Colorado Rapids 3-0.
Gabriel Pec completed a perfect night for the champions with a perfect strike in the 75th minute.
Philadelphia Union went rampage at the Subaru Park with a 4-0 thrashing of Chicago Fire.
The goal came from 4 different Philadelphia Union players, . Tai Baribo in the 34th minute put Philly Union ahead, Kia Wagner doubled it in the 64th minute, Jean Jacques put it beyond Chicago Fire in the 73rd before Iloski put the icing on the cake with the 4th in the 80th minute.
CF Montreal late push for playoffs came with a 3-2 home win over Austin FC in a cross-conference match up at the Stadia Saputo.
Seattle Sounders who are in the Leagues Cup semis finals where they will face LA Galaxy thrashed Sporting Kansas 5-2.
MLS match day 30 brought so many goals and a playoff berth, as we enter the home stretch of the league, match day 31 will hopefully produce more playoff teams.
