Seattle Sounders delivered an emphatic comeback victory over St. Louis City SC on Saturday night in front of their home crowd at Lumen Field. Despite falling behind early, Seattle surged back to secure a dominant 4-1 win in this MLS regular season clash.
First Half:
St. Louis took the lead in the 29th minute through a well-taken penalty by midfielder M. Hartel. However, the Sounders response was swift, just four minutes later, Albert Rusnák equalized from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute, bringing Seattle level and as the game’s momentum shifted.
Second Half:
Seattle’s attacking rhythm intensified in the second half. Obed Vargas gave the Sounders the lead in the 61st minute with a composed finish. Substitute Danny Musovski extended the lead in the 81st minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from St. Louis. In stoppage time, Nouhou sealed the victory with a goal in the 91st minute, capping off a comprehensive performance from the hosts.
