A dominate performance from Tigres saw them thrash MLS strugglers, Houston Dynamo 4-1 to take a commanding lead in their group of the Leagues Cup at the Shell Energy Stadium. The sold-out capacity was dominated by Tigres fans who came out in droves to show support to the Liga MX powerhouse.
Dynamo goalkeeper, Jonathan Bond was called into action in the 35th minutes to draw a save off Ivan Lopez from close range. Tigres were relentless on their onslaught. Dynamo Colombia defender, Pablo Oritiz clumsy play at the back could have been costly mistake but his quick feet came to the rescue.

Mexican star, Diego Lainez kept the tormenting Houston Dynamo with is incisive runs and touches, paid off when he dribbled the trio of Enali, Raines and Dorsey, found Correa who back-heeled it to Lopez but was again denied by Jonathan Bond.
When the fans thought the first half will end in a tie, here comes the long ball from Juan Brunetta found former Atletico Madrid player, Angel Correa deep into Houston territory, a perfect control and he finished with his right foot to give Tigres the lead just before half time.
At resumption, Houston Dynamo response was swift and precise, as through ball from Liberian born US U-22 international, Brooklyn Raines found Ondřej Lingr inside the box and he finished superbly as Houston Dynamo tie the game at 1-1. A goal that offers insight on what Houston Dynamo are capable of.
Tigres started to assert their tactical dominance over Houston Dynamo, but a missed opportunity for Dynamo when Ondřej Lingr pressure on Tigres Argentine goalkeeper, Nahuel Guzmán could have turned the tide.
As the pressure from Tigres kept mounting, Dynamo play from behind ran into troubles when goalkeeper, Jonathan Bond was under pressure and a faulty pass to Diego Lainez who smashed it into Houstin Dynamo net to give the Tigres a 2-1.
A faulty back pass from the captain, Artur was a perfect gift of the night to Angle Correa as he made Tigres a 3-1 lead to put the game beyond Houston Dynamo.
A late Houston Dynamo push had little or no effect, yes, games can be won from the bench, but down 4-1 and a glance at the bench offers no hope, no potent attacking options, a late push that feels like “guys hold the line to avoid further conceding of goals”.
By the time the center referee blew his final whistle, a 4-1 dominate win from Tigres compounded the woes of the MLS strugglers, the Houston Dynamo.

Fans were in despondent, the few orange shirts drowned by yellow shirts discusses the consequence of this defeat , som asked if the team have exited the competition before it starts as only the top four teams in each league's table will progress. The huffing and puffing at home continue and the phrase “we are a team still trying to find ourselves” kept bellowing in every presser.
